About the Gretchen Troop Band

The Gretchen Troop Band is the platform for Gretchen Troop's work as a soul~blues~funk~jazz singer. The band ranges from a two piece to a six-piece featuring some of the best instrumentalists in the area. The band plays regularly at such esteemed clubs as, Blues & Greens, Oskar's Blues and Q's Blues and Jazz. They also play festivals around Colorado and have been featured at events at the Boulder Theater.

Gretchen's lead vocals have repeatedly been heralded as one of the best in the area. She brings raw emotion and power to each of her performances. The band features many originals that she has written as well, ranging from sweet flamenco jazz flavored melodies to funky rockin' screamers, her range as a songwriter is just started to take off. The rest of the songs the band plays offer unique arrangements on jazz, blues, funk & soul standards.

Within the Gretchen Troop Band the music always comes first. Everyone on the stage has committed their life to the pursuit of music and it shows.
